By accessing or using TesTalk ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.
TesTalk is a third-party application that allows Tesla vehicle owners to create custom voice commands, automate action sequences ("Flows"), and control their Tesla vehicles through smart assistants and REST APIs. TesTalk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc.
You must be at least 18 years old and own or have authorized access to a Tesla vehicle to use this Service. By using TesTalk, you represent that you meet these requirements and have the legal right to authorize the actions performed on your behalf.
You sign in using your Tesla account via OAuth 2.0. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Tesla account. Any action taken through TesTalk using your account credentials is your responsibility. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Each account may have one Free vehicle. The Free plan is intended for testing TesTalk or light personal use with one vehicle. It allows up to 2 custom commands on that vehicle, smart assistant support, basic Tesla controls, and very limited command rates. It does not include Flows, API access, or priority support. The Free plan is provided as-is with no uptime guarantee.
Daily Driver plans are billed per vehicle. If same-plan additional vehicle pricing is offered, it applies only to additional vehicles assigned to Daily Driver:
Daily Driver includes up to 10 custom commands per vehicle, smart assistant support, full Tesla controls, Flows, sequences, daily-use rate limits, and priority support. It does not include API access.
Power User plans are billed per vehicle. If same-plan additional vehicle pricing is offered, it applies only to additional vehicles assigned to Power User:
Power User includes up to 20 custom commands per vehicle, smart assistant support, full Tesla controls, Flows, sequences, power-user rate limits, priority support, and API access.
Plans are assigned per vehicle. Each account may have only one Free vehicle. Any additional vehicle connected to the same account must be assigned to a paid Daily Driver or Power User plan. Users may mix Daily Driver and Power User vehicles in the same account, and paid vehicles are calculated independently by vehicle and plan.
Plan limits apply per vehicle. Usage allowances, command limits, API access, rate limits, and other plan features do not transfer between vehicles. Extra-vehicle discounts, when offered, apply only to additional vehicles within the same paid plan tier. A Daily Driver vehicle does not unlock discounted Power User pricing, and a Power User vehicle does not unlock discounted Daily Driver pricing.
TesTalk may change plan features, pricing, usage limits, fair-use rules, or discount availability with notice where required by law or platform policy.
Lifetime access refers to access for the lifetime of the TesTalk service, subject to a maximum service availability commitment of eight (8) years from the date of purchase. After this period, TesTalk may continue to provide access at its discretion, but is not contractually obligated to do so.
Continued service depends on factors outside TesTalk's full control, including Tesla Fleet API availability, Amazon Alexa and Google Home platform availability, payment processor availability, technical feasibility, legal or regulatory changes, and reasonable operating costs. TesTalk will make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the Service, but paid plans and lifetime access do not guarantee that any third-party platform, integration, or vehicle API will remain available indefinitely.
All monthly and yearly subscriptions are aligned to a single account-level billing anchor date, established on the calendar date of your first paid vehicle purchase. Every subsequent vehicle added to your account uses the same anchor to define its billing periods. For example, if your anchor is the 14th of the month, monthly periods always run from the 14th to the 13th of the following month.
When a paid vehicle is added or upgraded mid-period, you are charged a prorated amount calculated as:
Charge = full-period price × (days remaining in current period ÷ total days in period)
This proration ratio is shown explicitly at the point of purchase and on every invoice — you will always see the period dates, the number of remaining days, the ratio, and the exact charge before confirming. Your first partial period's usage allowances (wakes, commands, data requests, telemetry units) are also prorated by the same ratio. Full allowances apply from the first complete renewal period onward.
Subscription slot inheritance: When a paid vehicle is removed from your account, no credit or refund is issued — the subscription transitions to inactive status. However, the subscription slot is preserved as a reusable entitlement:
This mechanism allows you to swap vehicles — including replacing a car — without forfeiting the subscription you have already paid for.
Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically on each renewal date (anchored as described in section 5.6) unless cancelled before that date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access and full allowances until that date.
Plan upgrades (moving to a higher-priced plan or switching to lifetime) take effect immediately and are prorated. Plan downgrades and lateral changes (same tier, different frequency, or moving to the Free plan) are scheduled for the next renewal date; your current plan and allowances remain in effect until then. A scheduled change can be cancelled at any time before the renewal date.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Your current billing rate is locked until your next renewal after such a notice.
New paid vehicle additions are eligible for a full refund of the exact prorated charge paid at the time of purchase, within the following windows:
The refund equals the exact amount charged at the time of adding the vehicle (the prorated amount), not the current remaining-period value. After these windows, no refunds are available for that vehicle. Cancelling an upgrade within these windows is not applicable — upgrades take effect immediately; if you wish to revert, use the plan-change form to schedule a downgrade for the next renewal date. No credit is issued when a vehicle is removed outside the new-vehicle cancel window.
Each plan tier includes a defined set of usage allowances, applied per vehicle per billing period. These are enforced server-side on every relevant action and cannot be bypassed.
For your first partial billing period (between purchase date and the first renewal date), all allowances are scaled down by the same proration ratio used for your initial charge. A vehicle added with 15 of 30 days remaining will receive approximately 50% of the full-period allowances for that first period.
When a counter reaches its limit, the affected action type returns an error with a clear message indicating which counter is exhausted and when it resets. Other counters and action types are not affected. An in-app warning is shown when any counter reaches 80% of its limit.
TesTalk may adjust plan allowances over time. Existing subscribers will be notified of any reductions to their current plan's allowances.
In addition to Free and paid plans, vehicles may be set to inactive status. An inactive vehicle has no plan, no usage allowances, and no TesTalk features — controls, commands, flows, and telemetry are all disabled. This is distinct from the Free plan, which provides limited but active features.
Inactive vehicles are intended for users who own multiple Tesla vehicles but only wish to use TesTalk on a subset of them. Inactive vehicles appear in your dashboard but cannot be controlled. They do not consume the one-Free-vehicle-per-account limit.
Activating an inactive vehicle requires choosing a paid or Free plan and paying the prorated charge for the current billing period (if paid). Deactivating a vehicle follows the same process as removal — no credit is issued, and a subscription slot is freed for same-plan inheritance if applicable.
If a scheduled renewal payment fails, TesTalk will attempt to collect payment automatically over the following days. During a grace period of up to 7 days from the initial failure, your vehicle subscriptions remain fully active. You will receive email notifications at each failed attempt.
If payment remains unresolved after the grace period:
Suspension is lifted automatically when payment is resolved. Your plan, usage allowances, and vehicle access are restored immediately upon payment confirmation. Any usage counters for the new billing period begin fresh at the new renewal date.
TesTalk may also suspend accounts for violations of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or other reasons described in Section 12.
Promotional codes may be offered by TesTalk from time to time. Codes may provide a percentage discount, a fixed amount off, or a number of free billing periods. Promo codes are subject to their stated terms at the time of issuance, including plan restrictions, frequency restrictions, expiry dates, and maximum-use limits. One promo code may be applied per vehicle per purchase event. Promo codes cannot be combined (stacked) with other codes on the same transaction. TesTalk reserves the right to revoke or expire codes at any time without notice.
Paid plans include fair-use Tesla API usage suitable for normal personal smart-home control and automation. Excessive automated usage, repeated wake requests, abusive traffic, or usage that threatens service reliability may be rate-limited, temporarily restricted, or require a plan change.
TesTalk may use technical limits, throttling, temporary command restrictions, or other reasonable controls to protect service reliability, Tesla API access, user vehicles, and other users of the Service.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any command or Flow you execute is safe and appropriate given your vehicle's current location, state, and circumstances. Never use TesTalk to perform actions that could compromise vehicle security, endanger people, or violate traffic laws.
